More notecard designs! {And some purple love.}

Y’all know I LOVE stationery – note cards in particular! A few weeks ago, Beverly and I were brainstorming some new collections for the shop and we came up a lot of fun ideas. First up, I want to share these two new note card designs.

The best news is these are in the shop, ready for purchase. {Just click on “Shop the Nest” on the right to go right to our shop.} Want them personalized? Contact us! We would love to create personalized stationery for you. I think note cards make a great gift for anyone — even yourself!

And how fun is this post? Julia sent me this blog this morning, thinking I’d love the purpleness of it. How cute is that? Thanks for sharing, Jules!

{Sweet Parties} Addison’s Mermaid Party: The invitation and decorations

My sweet niece turned two on Sunday and of course Beverly planned a beautiful party so we could celebrate Addison! If you’re new to Sweet Birdie’s Nest, Addison is the ‘birdie’ of our business {and my Molly is the ‘sweet peach’}. How fun is it that our girls are only 15 days apart?!

Beverly decided on a mermaid theme for Addison’s party and pulled together the most beautiful items to create a perfectly sweet and not too theme-y party. Of course, it all begins with the invitation:

Beverly chose to have the party at – where else? – a local pool with amazing amenities. There was a generous sized pavilion where she set up the food and then a super fun pool with a water slide for the kids {all the kids – big and little alike!}.

My mom made that beautiful bunting with some fabrics Beverly had selected and I used the scraps to make the wreath.

Beverly painted an old canvas in turquoise and white stripes and added a pink ‘A’ to it to make a simple, easy decoration that she plans to hang in Addison’s room. I am totally stealing this idea for future use!

And how about these starfish centerpieces? Using starfish she already had, some ribbon and those cool white vases/buckets from Ikea, Beverly created a subtle but appropriate beach-y table decoration!

I love, love, love using a coordinating frame to display a picture of the birthday girl!

And finally, check out this table cloth our mom made. I love how simple pom-pom trim can jazz up a plain piece of fabric!

Be sure to check back tomorrow for part 2 of Addison’s party. There are tons more details to share with you!

Jane and Mike’s Wedding – Part II

Yesterday, I shared Jane and Mike’s wedding invitation, reception card, brunch invitation and response card with you. However, our job wasn’t done once the invitations were mailed. Jane also asked us to create the programs for the ceremony and the menus, table cards and escort cards for the reception.

The programs were simple booklets, so we tied a thin green ribbon in the crease to add some color and interest to the folded linen cardstock programs.

The menus were printed on 5×10 linen cardstock and then we created a wrap to secure around the menu indicating that Jane and Mike had made a donation to two of their favorite charities in honor of their guests.

The finished product, ready for guests:

For the table cards, Jane and Mike chose their favorite pictures of the two of them together and named the tables accordingly. We printed the pictures and place, as well as a number, on each table card. Jane made the stands out of corks and I think they turned out so cute! The coordinating escort cards were simple folded tents and the guests’ names and table were framed in the wintergreen color.

Finally, Jane and Mike also asked Sweet Birdie’s Nest to design and print their rehearsal dinner invitations. Jane wanted to keep with the subtle beach theme, but we took a break from the wintergreen and use a great blue and white instead.

Like I said yesterday, we had SO much fun creating all of these items for Jane and Mike. It was even more fun since I got to go to the wedding and see everything come together.

Jane & Mike – Congratulations and best wishes for a long, happy life! Thank you for allowing us to create these extra special items for your big day.
