More notecard designs! {And some purple love.}

Y’all know I LOVE stationery – note cards in particular! A few weeks ago, Beverly and I were brainstorming some new collections for the shop and we came up a lot of fun ideas. First up, I want to share these two new note card designs.

The best news is these are in the shop, ready for purchase. {Just click on “Shop the Nest” on the right to go right to our shop.} Want them personalized? Contact us! We would love to create personalized stationery for you. I think note cards make a great gift for anyone — even yourself!

And how fun is this post? Julia sent me this blog this morning, thinking I’d love the purpleness of it. How cute is that? Thanks for sharing, Jules!

{Sweet Parties} Paige-Allen’s Princess Tea Party

Kellie, one of our sweet customers, recently contacted us about a princess tea party invitation for her daughter’s 5th birthday party. {Kellie used our ladybug collection for her younger daughter’s 1st birthday party in the spring!}

We created this version of the invitation for Paige-Allen’s special day:

Kellie hosted afternoon tea for the birthday girl and five of her closest friends. The enjoyed scones, cucumber sandwiches, cookies, tarts, petit fours, lots of pink candy, and birthday cake, of course! The girls received tiaras, wands, and feather boas to wear during the party and take home with them.

I love, love, love all of the sweet details – and the pink! Thank you Kellie for asking us to create the sweet invitations and some other goodies for Paige-Allen’s party. We were thrilled to be a part of your celebration once again!

{Sweet Parties} Rae’s Ice Cream Party

One of our dear friends and repeat clients, Andrea, contacted us over the summer to customize our ice cream cone invitation for her daughter Rae’s 3rd birthday party.

Andrea hosted a lunch of roast beef sandwiches and chicken fingers with yummy add-ons like trail mix, fruit salad and other snacks, but the real stars of the afternoon where the ice cream sundae bar and the homemade cupcakes with a dusting of sugar on top!

I love the use of the ceramic ice cream cones as flower vases…so creative and cute!

Andrea’s sister Meredith made this fun pinata for the kiddos to take a whack at…the dads had to help out a bit, but it was definitely a fun party activity. How impressive it that?! Meredith did say she was NOT taking orders for future parties, however. Darn!

Bubbles and balloons, along with pinata candy, made for fabulous and kid-approved favors. Thanks so much for asking us to create the paper products for Rae’s special celebration, Andrea. Your continued support is invaluable!

We want to welcome Jen from Monogrammed Everything! as our newest sponsor.  She has a fun online shop with, well…everything monogrammable {is that a word?}. Check out the great gift items she has; monogrammed gifts are one of my favorites to give and receive! I know I need some new diaper covers for Molly for fall, and I saw a beautiful tray that I want for the house.  Welcome, Jen!

{Sweet Parties} Jill’s Baby Shower

Last weekend, Meredith and Andrea hosted a lovely baby shower lunch for our friend Jill, who is due with her second baby in October. We got together at a local restaurant, had a lovely lunch and yummy cupcakes, then headed down the street to treat ourselves to manicures and pedicures. Such a fun afternoon!

We customized the brown and blue baby carriage invitation, using purple and turquoise as the new color combo.

Meredith created a “dirty” diaper cake that had nothing for the new baby except the diapers. It was filled with hidden goodies for Jill! Such a clever idea for a second-time mom, no?

When Andrea was preggo, Meredith started a fun tradition of picking out the piece of fruit that represented the size of the baby {if you get the infamous Baby Center emails, you know what I’m talking about!}. Last week, Jill’s baby was the size of a small watermelon!

It was a wonderful celebration with great friends! Thanks, Meredith and Andrea, for asking Sweet Birdie’s Nest to create the invitations, diaper cake sign and tag for the watermelon!

Spring is in the air…

Which means it’s shower season!  We’ve had several requests in the past few weeks for some very sweet baby shower invitations.  And we know that bridal showers will be happening very soon for the early summer weddings.  Today I want to share with you some of our recent favorite designs – all inspired by this lovely spring weather we’re having!

{this one was inspired by our collection of items from the perfect color combination!}

And, if you’re like me and want to bring the perfect off-the-registery gift, consider our personalized notecards.  We can create a customized set to match any theme and the bride or mother-to-be will be thrilled with your thoughtfulness!

{Birth Announcements} Adorable Audrey

We created the sweetest Christmas card for this family in November and I thought her daughter was just the cutest.  Then, Heather contacted us a few weeks ago and needed a birth announcement for her second daughter.  I loved the colors in the picture – a purple blanket and a turquoise bow on Audrey’s headband.  We used that color combination to create a super sweet, but not at all baby-ish, birth announcement.

This is the one she chose:

Here are two other options in this collection:

{Invitations} Cake and Ice Cream!

My dear friend Sarah asked us to create her daughter’s second birthday party invitations in October.  She was looking for something fun and purple, but didn’t have a theme in mind.  Beverly and I had been wanting to create a cake and ice cream collection and we thought it would be fun to do that in purple!  Sarah loved the design and asked us to add some green, so this is the final product:

{Almost as cute as the birthday girl herself.}

We were having so much fun at the party that I neglected to get any pictures!  Molly enjoyed playing with Ellie’s new kitchen and Sarah made delicious – and beautiful! – cupcakes.

Would these adorable invitations be perfect for your sweetie’s birthday party?  Check out the entire collection in our Etsy shop today.  There are four customizable designs to choose from.
