How did it become January 23 already?

Seriously. Where do the days go? Beverly and I have had an awesome {and awesomely busy!} January with Sweet Birdie’s Nest and life in general. I celebrated a birthday earlier this month and Beverly’s older son, Jackson, turned nine a few days later. I’m definitely not old enough for J to be nine! {I still remember the day he was born and cannot believe how much I love that kid! All of Beverly’s kid, and my own at that, but still…}

Molly {my only kiddo} and Jackson {Beverly’s oldest} have both been sick, which means they’ve been home from school, and the semester has started back {I teach at a local college}, in addition to a record number of orders for Sweet Birdie’s Nest. We are constantly blown away by our clients and marvel over the repeat customers and referrals we receive regularly! We seriously cannot thank you enough.

A few fun things from this month include this fun invitation we created for Evie’s birthday party. You have to check out this indoor park! I wish we had something like this in Charlotte!

And take a look at this safari themed first birthday party. I am in love with the color scheme.

Our bow-tie collection has been really popular this month, and we have had several custom requests. I just packaged and sent one of the new collections and I think it’s too sweet not to give you a sneak peek:

See?! Total cuteness! Be on the lookout for the full collection in the shop soon!

Egg hunts, cousins, and bridal tea invitations

Even though it’s officially been spring for over a month now, I still feel like Easter weekend is the magical weekend that announces SPRING. Maybe it’s the beautiful colors of the clothes and candy {my favorite? the beautiful speckled peanut butter M & M’s}, or spending the weekend outside with family. Either way, we had a wonderful Easter weekend.  To kick start the weekend, Molly and I went to a Easter egg hunt in our neighborhood, hosted by my friend Jessica and her son Graham. Jessica went all out with the decorations and sweets table; the kids – and moms – loved everything!

Doesn’t everything look amazing? Jessica has experience as an event planner, and it definitely shows!

Easter Sunday, after church and brunch, we went to Beverly’s house for the afternoon. We all enjoyed the afternoon outside, watching the kids run through Benjamin’s new sprinkler and the girls learning how to interact with each other. Every time we get together, Molly and Addison play together more and more. On the way to brunch, Molly was asking for Addi Bird and when she saw her at the club, she laughed and pointed, saying “Addi! Addi Bird!” I pray every night that my daughter and my niece will be the best of friends – they’re practically twins, so they have to be, right?! Here are some of my favorite pictures from the afternoon:

trying to get a picture of the great-grandparents and all the great-grandchildren

sweet girls: hugs!

cooking up trouble already...

...annnnd switch!

I don’t have a lot of pictures of the boys…I need to be better about that!  Beverly got some great shots of her kids on her camera, so maybe she’ll post those soon.

We’ve had so many fun, spring-like requests recently:  baby showers, wedding showers, and Sip ‘n Sees. We’ve done some really pretty, elegant invitations lately and I can’t wait to see pictures from all the parties.

A customer that we recently created birthday party invitations for contacted us about invitations for a bridal tea.  How lovely is that? I love a good tea party. Here are two of the designs we created for her:

So feminine and elegant, yet simple. They make me want to host a bridal shower!

{Invitations} Rugby Stripe Sports Invitations

Beverly’s oldest son’s birthday is in January, just a few short weeks after the hub-bub of the holidays settles down.  While we’ve never neglected to celebrate Jackson’s birthday – always with a super fun party, too! –  the party invitations aren’t always prepared ahead of time.  So this year, in-between Christmas card orders, Beverly started working on some invitations that would be perfect for J’s party!  I love this simple, rugby-stripe, sports theme design she came up with (it’s inspired by one of our favorite holiday card designs). We can customize the stripe color and sports image to suit your party.

Are you loving these invitations as much as I am?  Find them in our Etsy shop today.
