These special invitation designs were inspired by a local 8-year-old girl, Ellie Shoal Potvin, who recently lost her battle with cancer. The entire Charlotte community followed Ellie’s story, praying for her health, waiting for tweets and blog updates each day, wishing she would overcome her battle with a rare pediatric cancer. However, Ellie lost her battle with cancer in June, leaving behind a twin sister and her mom and dad, all of whom have been inspirational to our city. Whether at a church meeting, PTA meeting, or an evening out with friends, everyone was following Ellie’s story and could not help but be touched by the faith and courage of her family. 

Her parents created the Lift Up Ellie foundation as a voice for all children fighting pediatric cancers. All proceeds from the purchase of these invitations will be donated to the Lift Up Ellie foundation.
