{Sweet Parties} Rae’s Farmhouse Party

Our dear friend Andrea wanted to host a farm theme birthday party for her daughter Rae’s second birthday.  Like her mom and aunts, Rae loves horses, so that was the inspiration for the invitations, decorations, and the yummy ice cream cake!  Andrea has the perfect backyard for a party and she served pork bar-be-que sandwiches with all the right sides – macaroni and cheese, slaw, and watermelon!

Hay bales, red and white fabric, a fun horse balloon, and red tissue pom-poms completed the fun decorations.  And the party circles were a perfect touch on the mason jars and flower vase.  Andrea wrapped raffia around the jars and vase and attached the party circles:

Thanks for letting us create the invitations for your family’s very special day, Andrea!

Butterflies for Ellie

  These special invitation designs were inspired by a local 8-year-old girl, Ellie Shoal Potvin, who recently lost her battle with cancer. The entire Charlotte community followed Ellie’s story, praying for her health, waiting for tweets and blog updates each day, wishing she would overcome her battle with a rare pediatric cancer. However, Ellie lost her battle with cancer in June, leaving behind a twin sister and her mom and dad, all of whom have been inspirational to our city. Whether at a church meeting, PTA meeting, or an evening out with friends, everyone was following Ellie’s story and could not help but be touched by the faith and courage of her family.

Her parents created the Lift Up Ellie foundation as a voice for all children fighting pediatric cancers. All proceeds from the purchase of these invitations will be donated to the Lift Up Ellie foundation. As parents ourselves, we cannot imagine what Ellie’s family has faced, but we want to do something to help.  Join us in fighting childhood cancer by purchasing the Butterflies for Ellie invitation in our Etsy shop.

Please be sure to visit the Lift Up Ellie website to learn more about this special girl and her amazing family!

{Sweet parties} Molly’s Bumblebee Party

We celebrated Molly’s first birthday over the weekend with lots of family and friends.  I chose the theme – bumblebees – after purchasing the sweetest smocked bumblebee bubble suit in the spring.  I was a little worried that it wouldn’t fit her now, but it did!

Beverly designed the adorable invitation {there were several versions – be sure to check out our Etsy shop for the designs!} and other paper products for me.  I had such great help from Beverly, my mom, my mother-in-law, and sisters-in-law to get everything organized.  Thank you!!

{My in-laws made the cutest sugar cookies using beehive and bee shaped cookie cutters; I made the bunting to hang on the mantle and over the dessert table after being inspired by Sara; the paper garland on the chandelier was an easy DIY project from Kim at Project Nursery;  the delicious cake and cupcakes are from local bakery Tizzerts; so many books were donated in honor of Molly for the Levine’s Children’s Hospital; the flatware was rolled in these bright yellow napkins and finished with the party circles!}
