During the Christmas rush, my office became quite the mess…and I am just now getting around to *organizing* all the paperwork that accumulated during November and December. On top of that, Heidi and I got this great idea to switch my playroom (which is upstairs) and my office (which is downstairs). Well, talk about a mess! January was spent decluttering, purging and donating!
Once I got my desk moved, I decided I needed a bulletin board to go right behind my computer monitor to remind me of all our current client projects! I LOVE the Ballard catalog and saw this awesome burlap covered memo board that would be perfect in the new office:
The best part was that I already everything but the upholstery tacks to make this!! (Sad to say, but I have had the cork and foam board for over 5 years to use for a completely different project!)
First things first, I cut the foam board (ended up using two pieces to make it extra thick for the upholstery tacks I purchased) and cork to size. For the spot I am hanging my memo board, 16×25 was the perfect size. I spray glued all the pieces together and clamped them to dry.
Next, I cut a piece of burlap big enough to fold over and staple with the staple gun.
Finally, I got to turn the bulletin board over and add the finishing touches…the upholstery tacks! I placed the tacks about 2.5 inches apart.
I am so excited about how it turned out…I think I am going to make a bigger one to go over my work table!
