Y’all, Molly Jean is four today. FOUR. Seriously, where did the past four years go? I was pretty emotional last night, and Jim & Molly totally thought I was crazy. I have no words to explain how surreal it is that I have a four-year-old. She is awesome on so many levels, and I really just can’t believe she’s mine. I am SO proud to be her mama and am SO grateful that God chose me to be her mother. Molly is passionate and happy and beautiful and stubborn (Lord help me, she is stubborn!) and clever and compassionate. She tests my patience on a daily basis and makes me doubt my competence as a mother, but she also makes me unbelievably happy. I’ve never been more sure of God and miracles and love. Four years ago today, I not only fell in love with Molly but also more in love with her dad. Seeing Jim in the role of father is amazing; Molly made us parents and I’m forever grateful for that privilege.
We celebrated on Saturday morning. Jim built a playset for Molly for her birthday gift, and I’m hoping to take her for her first professional manicure & pedicure at some point today. She keeps telling us that this has been the best birthday ever. I hope we can make every year the best.
Of course Beverly created some adorable invitations and a few printables for the party! My favorite is the chalkboard sign; I am excited to include that in Molly’s yearly photo book that I’ll work on this week. I bought several yards of fabric and I didn’t use most of it. (I made two small buntings and used a large piece for a table cloth, but I’ll probably sell the rest of it, so keep an eye on the blog for details.)
We love you forever and always, Molly Jean!
