Last month, while Jim and I were perusing the eclectic shops of Asheville, he noticed and pointed out the perfect piece of art for the Sweet Birdies:
I gasped and said I had to have them! Lo and behold, there were TWO of these {and they were *slightly* different, which made them even more cool}. However, I had also said I had to have about ten other things that we had already purchased. So I took a picture, sent it to Beverly and waited for her reply. If she had to have them, too, then well…I had to get them, right?
She didn’t respond right away {I mean, seriously…why can’t a mother of three respond to my text right away on a Saturday afternoon?} so we went to a brewery nearby for a pre-dinner drink. Beverly finally responded and said that yes, she had to have one for her office! So I ran out of the brewery, leaving my coat on my chair, and hustled down the block back to this shop.
I stopped dead in my tracks because there was only ONE of these sculptures left. In the ten minutes since we had left the store, someone bought one of these? What are the odds of that?! I frantically looked around and found that one had been set down across the aisle. I quickly grabbed both of them. Now mine lives on my new Expedit shelves in my dining room, with my paper samples and client info.
Aren’t they SO sweet and perfect for us? The shop owner said that a local artist makes them and has an Etsy shop, but I haven’t had any luck finding her. Does anyone recognize these birdies?

Another sweet piece of art that we got on our trip was a cute print for Molly’s room by Melissa Moss. The print we got is called “stay,” and I can’t find it on her website, but there were so many adorable ones that I was totally tearing up looking at them.
This one, called “i miss you when you’re asleep,” was definitely in the running but the print we got is pink and black, so it goes with the colors of the nursery. {Do you still call it a nursery when you have a 2 and a half year old?}
As I was looking through the gallery on Melissa’s website, I came across her blog and saw a new Valentine’s print that is perfect for our bedroom! I might have to get in touch with Melissa so I can snag that new piece – I’ve been pinning and favoriting {yes, I just made up that word} art ever since we got our new bedding.
Go check her out and tell me you don’t find a piece that doesn’t speak to you!

Love it! And it’s just the perfect piece of art for you guys!
