We’re back! After a much-needed break with our families, Beverly and I are ramping up work for Sweet Birdie’s Nest again. We’re going to spend the next few days ringing in the new year and catching up on custom orders from before Christmas, and then we’ll be back to business as usual. Thanks to those of you who have checked in on us; the emails we received from followers wondering where we have been were so sweet and made us feel so very loved!
Jim and I usually host an annual Christmas party, but we were unable to do so this year; however, I couldn’t let the holiday season pass by without *any* kind of party. I was inspired by a sweet customer of ours and decided that I would host a cookie decorating party for some of Molly’s buddies.
It was a bit crowded and chaotic, but so much fun! Jim made all the sugar cookie cutouts the day or two before, and I had been collecting sprinkles and other goodies along the way, so I didn’t feel too overwhelmed before the party. I found the cutest plastic milk bottles, cups for the decorations, striped straws and to-go boxes from Shop Sweet Lulu. I had lots of red and green decorations and icing, plus lots of cold milk and cranberry & sprite in red cups for the moms. Then there were apple slices, crackers & bacon dip, and some reindeer mix to snack on between cookie decorating.
The kids were *covered* in icing and sprinkles within minutes of the start of the party. Molly was one of the kiddos who was simply shoveling in fistfuls of icing and sprinkles. Why bother putting it on the cookie, right?
Molly was totally overwhelmed and exhausted by the time the party was over. She went right down for a nap, which gave me an opportunity to break out the vacuum and mop!
Many thanks to Mandy for the pictures that aren’t blurry {I had a different lens on my camera and didn’t have time to play around with the settings!} and Beverly for creating the printables and helping me set up and break down the party. And a very special thank you to my nephews Jackson & Benjamin for being such sweet, helpful guys during the party!
I will be back soon with more pictures and news from our holiday celebrations!
