Jane and Mike’s Wedding – Part I

Beverly and I were honored and thrilled when Jane and Mike asked us to create not only their wedding invitations, but the programs, menus, table cards, escort cards and their brand-new, first-time-ever joint stationery. We also designed the two different sets of notecards Jane used as thank you notes for her engagement and shower gifts. Getting married is serious business and making all of the decisions can be daunting. Jane was a generous, kind bride who had specific ideas but was open to lots of options. We had so much fun creating all of the products and hope that Jane and Mike were pleased with the results. We made a few invitation proofs for them, and once they selected the actual invitation, we set to work on the rest of the items.

Since the wedding and reception were going to be at Wrightsville Beach and in Wilmington, but not actually *on* the beach, Jane wanted something beach-y but not too casual. Her bridesmaids’ dresses were the color “wintergreen,” from J.Crew, so we incorporated that color throughout the paper products.

Here are our three original designs:

After combining elements from the second and third proofs, we landed on a final design:

Once Jane and Mike decided on the invitation, we set to work on the enclosures: a reception card, a brunch invitation, and a response card.

Check back later this week to see the other items we created for Jane and Mike’s wedding! And because everyone always loves a bride, here’s a picture from the wedding
