If you know me at all, you know how much I treasure the written word and I’m fairly certain that one of my first loves was writing or receiving a beautiful, well-written note. My Nana kept scrapbooks and boxes of every thank you note, birthday card, or friendly letter she received and as children, my sisters and cousins and I would read the letters over and over again, getting glimpses into her life and remembering holidays and special occasions with her. After college, a friend of mine traveled to Africa and I was always thrilled to receive her page-long letters recounting her daily adventures. And the years before and after my wedding, Jim practically lived in Chicago and then Los Angeles, but I collected a box full of letters and notes from him that I hope our children will value one day as they learn about their parents’ love story.
As a newly married bride, I was thrilled to buy stationery with my married name and monogram on it and when Molly was born, the first thing I purchased with her name on it was personalized stationery. So you can imagine how excited we are at Sweet Birdie’s Nest to present our notecard collection! We have been working on three sets of custom notecards for three sweet kids this week, but I saw a grown-up design at Beverly’s today that I immediately customized for myself!
Here is the first set of cards we created: simple but fun initial notecards, with the option of a first name below the initial. These cards can be customized with your favorite color combination and will work for boys or girls; the girl’s cards have a dotted line and the boy’s cards have a dashed line.
We’ll post new designs on the blog and in the Etsy shop as we create them, or we’d love to create something especially for you…let us know what you’re looking for!
